The most common types of hair extensions are so-called bonding, tape or clip extensions. The names vary depending on the provider and language.
Bonding Extensions
These are individual strands which are not glued or clipped into the hair, but are usually attached to the hair with heat pliers. Bonding connectors are attached to the end of the hair strand and are melted with heat tongs and are fixed to the own hair after hardening.
The method is also called Hot Fusion, keratin strands, extensions with wax, keratin extensions, keratin bonding and U-tip extensions. Names such as Nail-Tip (also called U-Tip), V-Tip or I-Tip (often used for microring extensions). The term "keratin bonding" is misleadingly used by many providers to describe the connection point of the human hair strands as high-quality and gentle. KERATIN is hardened protein and can only be produced by the human body. So "Keratin bondings" are a myth which is used by some suppliers for "marketing purposes".
To remove the bonding extensions, one breaks the bond and removes the strand. Ideally, one uses a special remover pliers and a removal lotion.
Tape Extensions
Tapes or tape-in extensions are adhesive strips that are used to attach the extensions to your own hair. Mia&Pia offers the tapes, which offer a very good hold and are almost invisible. 
In the sandwich process, the own hairs are glued between the tape extensions. In this way, hair breakage and a feeling of pressure can be prevented. For the removal of the tape-ins, special agents such as the Good Bye Solution are used. Frequent names for Tape Extension are also Tapes, Tape-In, Tape-on, Quikkies, Quick & Easy, tapeIT, Skinwefts or Klebetresse.
Microring Extensions
Microring Extensions are attached to your own hair with a plastic or metal ring and are pressed together with a suitable extension plier. Particularly if they are compressed too much, the hair can be pinched off or damaged. If the attachment points are made too close to the scalp, pain or feelings of pressure can occur. Often the connection point is very large and hard, can press unpleasantly and can be badly concealed with fine hair.
Clip – Extensions
Clip extensions can be used spontaneously and are intended for short-term use. E.g. for parties, parties, weddings, for pinned-up hairstyles or simply for when you want to make yourself pretty quickly. With clips, the hair braids are attached to small clips and can be easily clipped into your own hair. Clip extensions are also called clip-ins, clip-ons, clip-webs or clip-strips.
